Drug Company Profits, CEO Salaries Worse Than Obscene

The Honorable Zell Miller

Sen. Zell Miller (D-GA) It's no wonder the price of prescriptions is going through the roof when the drug companies are paying their CEOs as much as $74 million a year.

That's obscene, pure and simple.

It's worse than obscene.

It's no wonder our seniors are cutting pills in half or skipping them altogether.

They can't afford the exorbitant prices the drug companies have to charge in order to rake in profits of 18 percent.

And instead of dedicating as much as possible to research, drug companies are spending twice as much on TV ads.

How many times do we have to see that spinning purple pill or that sleek, handsome guy who does a belly buster into the pool?

We talk about predatory lenders.

What about predatory businesses that protect their bottom lines at the expenses of millions of people who can't afford drugs they desperately need?
