Attacks Were "Acts of War"
The Honorable John McCain

|

"May God have mercy on their souls, because we won't."

--Sen. John McCain, on the perpetuators of the attacks on America
There are no words to describe adequately the enormity of these attacks on the United States or the depravity of these attacks on the United States or the depravity of those who are responsible for them.

Clearly, the organization and magnitude of these attacks required more than a few people to perpetrate. It will take some time to determine who they are, and who has supported their attacks on the United States.

But we will find them out, and they will suffer the full, awesome measure of our justice.

Until then, we can only pray for the victims and their families, remain calm, and resolute, confident that America will never be cowed by terrorists, no matter how awful their acts, no matter how depraved their hearts.

These were not just crimes against the United States, they are acts of war. We will prevail in this war, as we have prevailed in the past.

May God bless us in this trial, defend us, and make our justice swift and sure.
